Montessori Erdkinder International Conference

On March 21–22, the Montessori Erdkinder International Conference will take place as part of the Erasmus+ KA220-SCH-06406257 project. The event will gather teachers, school leaders, Montessori specialists, education researchers, and representatives of educational institutions from across Europe. It will be one of the most significant milestones of the project—an opportunity to summarise the two years of collaboration among partner schools from Poland, the Czech Republic, Germany, Norway, Latvia, and Slovakia, and to present the final results of this joint work.
The conference will feature the first public presentation of the four comprehensive educational programmes developed within the project: Beekeeping, Carpentry, Gardening, and Kitchen Work. Participants will learn about their pedagogical foundations, structure, educational goals, practical activities, and strategies for implementing them in Montessori adolescent environments. It will be a unique opportunity to see how the principles of Montessori Erdkinder have been transformed into concrete educational tools applicable in Montessori schools across Europe.
The programme of the conference includes keynote presentations by international experts in Montessori pedagogy and adolescent education, including speakers involved in shaping global standards for Montessori adolescent programmes. Participants will also take part in discussion panels focusing on key challenges in modern education, the creation of a prepared environment for adolescents, learning through meaningful work, fostering independence and responsibility, and the importance of nature-based education.
Across the two days of the event, guests will engage in practical workshops, presentations led by partner schools, and networking sessions. The conference will also feature reflections and project outcomes shared by students who participated in mobility programmes in Białka and in partner schools abroad. Their short presentations and project materials will enrich the event with an authentic adolescent perspective.
Additionally, the venue will host exhibition stands showcasing partner schools’ activities, project materials, student work, and examples of educational tools created during the project. This interactive space will allow participants to exchange ideas and discover diverse practices used in Montessori adolescent programmes across Europe.
The full conference programme—including the list of speakers, workshop schedule, panel descriptions, and organisational details—will be published in January. We warmly invite all interested participants to save the date and follow upcoming announcements. We are confident that the 21–22 March conference will inspire the Montessori community, contribute to the growth of Montessori Erdkinder-based education, and represent an important step toward building a modern, practical, relationship-centred approach to adolescent learning in Europe.

On site attendance is now fully booked.
